Genuine replacement clutch plates, also called clutch discs, for Webster & Bennett vertical turret lathes and vertical boring mills.
We are the only authorized stocking distributor for genuine Webster & Bennett clutch plates in the Americas, and we ship worldwide. Plates come direct from Webster & Bennett UK. We hold them in stock and ship them to you, wherever your machine is working.
Whether you need the Ferodo friction plates, the steel plates, or a complete set, we only need two things:
Webster & Bennett clutch plates changed across the production run, so the serial number and table size together tell us exactly which plates suit your machine. You do not need to open the clutch, measure anything, or work out drawing references. Send us those two details and we confirm the correct plates and a lead time.
It is stamped into the metal on the end of the cross slide. You will often find it on the chuck or faceplate too. It is stamped, not on a plate or tag, so look for the numbers in the casting itself.
Webster & Bennett revised the main drive clutch at least four times across the production run. The earliest machines used a different design again, and the later V, EV and R machines changed the arrangement completely. Even the number of steel plates in the rapid power traverse clutch changed part way through. Two machines of the same table size, built a few years apart, do not necessarily take the same plates. That is why a chart cannot answer this and your serial number can.
We supply clutch spares across the full Webster & Bennett range:
If your machine is a Webster & Bennett vertical turret lathe or vertical boring mill and it is not obviously listed above, send the serial number anyway. Our records go back to the earliest machines, and we can almost always identify the correct clutch spares.
We supply the genuine article, not pattern copies or look-alike replacement parts. Common clutch spares ship from stock in the USA. Anything we have to source from Webster & Bennett UK is typically one to two weeks, and we confirm the lead time with your quote. We supply customers across the Americas, India, the Middle East, Asia, Africa and Australia, and regularly support operators keeping older Webster & Bennett machines in service. If you are in the UK or Europe, please contact Webster & Bennett UK directly.
